Thus, it is okay for a 4- 5 hour journey; however, passengers also take overnight journeys in this class. And yes, not to mention AC or air conditioning, which means you can beat the heat in this coach even when the sun roasts people outside.
2. S – Seater Class:
This coach has the same seating arrangement as CC or the chair car, but it lacks the air conditioning feature. It is generally preferred for day travel and by passengers who like to travel economically. It has a total capacity of 108 passengers.
3. SL - Sleeper class:
This is the most widely used coach. It has either 72 seats on regular trains or 78 seats on Duranto trains, with six seats on one side and two on the opposite. This is a budget-friendly coach for most passengers.
4. A – AC First Class:
This is the most comfortable and air-conditioned coach in Indian trains as far as privacy is concerned. It is also the most expensive coach, sometimes even costlier than the airfare. Bedding is included in the fare. This has either 18 or 22 seats. Food and beverages are sometimes included in the fare, depending on the train you are travelling on. Berths are for the night, and seats are for the day.
5. A – AC Second Class:
This is another air-conditioned and comfortable coach with berths, though it lacks some of the luxury features present in the 1A-AC coach. Bedding is included in the fare. It can carry 46 or 52 passengers. Depending on the train you are travelling on, food and beverages are sometimes included in the fare.
6. A – AC Third Class:
This coach has the same seating arrangement as SL. It also provides air conditioning and bedding, the cost of which is included in the fare. So, this fairness is somewhat higher than that of the traditional sleeper coach.
