About Srinagar Jamia Masjid

Srinagar Jamia Masjid is a mosque in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India. It is located at Nowhatta in the middle of the Old City, and became built by means of Sultan Sikandar Shah Kashmiri Shahmiri in 1394 CE, below the order of Mir Mohmmad Hamadani, son of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani. Sultan Sikhandar's son Zain-ul-Abidin extended the Jama Masjid by means of such as turret. It is analogous to Buddhist pagodas and is constructed in Persian style. Jamia Masjid is located in a historical location which also was primary quarter to the religio-political existence in Srinagar.
The Mehrab of the Mosque is built of Kashmir glazed black stones with a picturesque Arch on which 99 inscribed Attributes of Allah surrounded by means of the inscription of sura Juma in Tagraalphabet. To attain the Mosque roof the walls of the four minarets have indoors stairs inside the round form that cease in the lounges of each minaret. The whole metropolis of Srinagar can be viewed from these excessive minarets. The roof is built out of wood and iron bars. The birch bark over the roof is now replaced through corrugated iron sheets. The inner courtyard of the mosque has a water tank with 4 lawns round it embellished with chinar bushes.
